How to Stay Organized as a Virtual Assistant

You’re in the habit of writing things down on sticky notes or notepad and then need to take the time to organize them. Yes, while this is a way to quickly jot down what you need to do, it’s not sustainable.

Dealing with client work daily can be overwhelming. Working on your own business on top of that adds to the stress.

In this article, we share some tips on a system that might help you stay on top of EVERYTHING you’ve got going on - client work and your own.

Establish a Clear Communication System with your clients:

One of the most important aspects of a successful relationship with your client is how you communicate. Establishing a clear communication system is important for keeping everything organized. Discuss communication methods with your client - email, phone calls, instant messaging, or a project management system. Find a system that works for both of you and set clear expectations for response times and availability.

Implement a Project Management System:

A project management system allows you to keep track of tasks, deadlines, and progress in real-time. If your clients are collaborators, they can see too. There are quite a few to choose from, such as Notion, Trello, Asana, ClickUp, and Monday.com. Find one that works for both you and your client.

List your business goals and the tasks you need to complete to reach them. Set up a project board, add them in, and track your progress.
